How do I manually upgrade the firmware of my Yealink?
While having a Yealink device auto-provisioned to the system will allow us to automatically upgrade the firmware, sometimes this needs to be done manually.
This can be done by downloading the firmware ROM file needed for the device, and then accessing the web interface of the Yealink to upload it.
Step 1: Obtaining the IP address
There are 2 ways of getting the IP address of a Yealink device. The first is to simply head to the Status page of the Yealink in which it will display its local IPv4 Address. However, there are times where this is not possible, so instead a scan of the network can be completed:
1. On a PC that is on the local network of the Yealink handset, open a browser and search for "Advanced IP Scanner" (or use this link: https://www.advanced-ip-scanner.com/).

3. Open the downloaded .exe file:
4. Select Run (you do not need to install the full program):
5. Click the green Scan (Play) button:
6. Once the scan populates, click the Manufacturer column header twice to sort the
list. This will group all "Yealink" devices together at the top:
7. Find your Yealink device (either by model name or MAC address), and note down the IP address shown
Step 2: Access the Web Interface
Now that we have the IP address of the Yealink, we can use this to access the web interface of the device.
[Whatever computer or device you are using to access the web interface, please ensure it is on the exact same network connection as the Yealink you are trying to access]
1. In the URL of a web browser, type in https://[Your IP Address]
a. e.g. https://192.168.1.67
b. If you see an error about ‘Your connection is not secure’, advance through and connect anyways
2. You should see a login screen for the Yealink device. The username and password by default should be ‘admin’, however please put in your own admin password if this has been changed in the past
Step 3: Check versions & download firmware
1. On the "Status" tab (the first screen after login), note the current Firmware Version.
2. Find your device on Yealink’s support base and download the next firmware needed to upgrade to: https://support.yealink.com/
[Important - The "Stepping Stone" Rule]
You usually cannot jump from a very old version directly to the latest one. You must upgrade in steps. Example:
- If a T46S is on 66.84.0.90, you should upgrade to 66.85.x.x
first, and then to 66.86.0.165. - Download the necessary intermediate files and the final file to the computer.
Step 4: Apply the update
1. In the phone's web interface, navigate to Settings > Upgrade.
2. Click Browse and select the firmware file you want to upload (start with the
intermediate version if needed).
3. Click Upload. A warning box will appear; click OK.
4. The screen will say "Firmware updating... Please wait and do not power
off!"
a. Do not close the tab, refresh the page, or touch the phone during this
process.
b. The update can take up to 5 minutes.
5. Once the phone reboots, log back in and check the status to ensure the firmware has now upgraded.
a. If you need to apply a second update (to get to the final version), repeat Step 4.
