Features of the T7 and T8 Yealink SIP devices, and should I upgrade to them?

The new Yealink T7x and T8x Series are now available for purchase and can be used with the our system. This will detail what new features these devices have and what they are intending to replace regarding older Yealink models.

 

 

What are the new devices, and what are their features?

The main intent for each version is that the T7 handsets will be replacing the current T4 series, and the T8 handsets will be replacing the current T5 series.

 

There are five new T7 devices , and three new T8 devices:

 

 

These devices of course differ from one another, please see below for some key differences:

(There are Pro models of the T88W/V, but the main difference between ‘Pro’ and standard is that the Pro models come with a bluetooth handset as standard)

 

 

The T7 & T8 series contains many new features in comparison to the T4/T5 predecessor, such as:

 

  • Wi-Fi 6 (only on W models)

  • Bluetooth 5.0

  • More streamlined UI (New accessibility mode, Dark mode now available)

  • Shared firmware versions between T7 & T8 Models

  • Improved audio quality (AI Noise Cancellation, 3W Speaker, Optimised Acoustic Shield)

  • “Three Rings of Security” - helps prevent tampering and unauthorised access

 

 

What device should I upgrade to?

 

Depending on what current T4 or T5 model phone you have, there are different new models which are intended to be direct upgrades to allow a seamless transition.

 

T4 Series:

  • T42U → T73W/U
  • T43U → T73W/U
  • T44W/U → T73W/U
  • T46U → T74W/U
  • T48U → T77U

 

T5 Series:
  • T53W → T73W/U or T74W/U
  • T54W → T85W
  • T57W → T87W
  • T58W/V → T88W/V
